What is Bowls and why should I play?

It's people. For centuries target sports have given humans respite from the everyday grind and created a forum for friendly competition and sport. Lawn Bowling, or Bowls,  is a game predicated on friendly, family oriented fun that can be played on a week night evening after work to relax and get some good bending a walking exercise for the whole body, for seniors during a morning or afternoon league or more serious competitions on the weekend that one can travel around the country, and world to play.

This is a sport for all ages and athletic ability. It pits ones wits against another while trying to master how to roll a ball that curves in search of the target.

President's message
Picture

Welcome to the Northeast Division of BowlsUSA, the birthplace of lawn bowls in the United States. Spanning from Virginia to Western Pennsylvania and north to New England, we are dedicated to promoting and celebrating the sport throughout the region.

The Northeast was home to America's earliest bowling greens, the original headquarters of the American Lawn Bowls Association (now BowlsUSA), and the host greens of the first National Championships. We are proud to be a foundational part of the American lawn bowling story!

Whether you are new to the sport and looking for a club, a member interested in joining a tournament, or simply seeking more information, we are here to help.

We hope to see you out on our greens!
