2021 TOURNAMENT RESULTS
Ron Buck Singles - May 22 & 23, 2021 - skytop lawn bowling club
Congratulations to our 2021 Ron Buck Singles winners and especially to Scott Snyder of Essex County Lawn Bowling Club, who came in 1st place and was undefeated with a 6-0 record.
Playoffs were held for 2nd and 3rd place, all with 5-1 records. Ted Tragard of Frick Park of Pittsburgh came in 2nd place after defeating Yatish Uchil of New York/Essex LBC and then played a very close game against Michele Arculli of Essex County LBC who came in 3rd place.
Thank you to all the participants for coming out on a very hot weekend to play in this tournament.

Congratulations to the 2021 Saladin Pairs Winners from Frick Park, Richard Lockyer (Lead) and Cory Stawartz (Skip) who won the event, undefeated with a 5-0 record.
Second place winners are Marion Stawartz (Lead) with sub, Tony DeCarolis stepping in for 1.5 games on the 2nd day and Larry Stawartz (Skip) with a record of 4-1-0. Third place went to Jeri Spann (Lead) and Gary Mossi (Skip) with a 4-0-1 record. No playoffs required in this 5-card draw tournament.

Congratulations to Alan Winson (Skip) and Mark Ragan (Lead) of New Jersey and New York Lawn Bowling Club for winning 1st place in the 2021 Inaugural Colin Smith Pairs!
New format was played…2 bowl pairs with a 6-card draw and 16 ends were played. Alan and Mark won it with a 5-1 record and two teams had to playoff with a 4-2 record. 2nd place: Joe Kelly (lead) and Ryan Hastu (skip) or New York LBC 3rd place: Ron Stubing (lead) and Colin Edgar (skip) of New York LBC Congratulations to all the winners and all the participants that entered this event to honor Colin Smith, Hall of Famer for both Northeast Division and Bowls USA for his dedication and love of bowls! NED Open Triples
2021 NED Open Triples took place over the weekend on Aug 7 & 8. We had 10 Triples teams with 4 out of town teams from Florida, New York x 2, Rhode Island/New Jersey.
We had 3 teams with a 4-1 record and playoffs took place. Yatish Uchil (Skip), Scott Snyder (Vice) and Mark Ragan (Lead) lost to Maz Zankowski’s team of Ted Tragard (Vice) and Tony DeCarolis (Lead) of Frick Park. Maz’s team went off to play against Richard Lockyer’s team of Nick Meddis (Vice) and Bob Heilbronner (Lead), all from Frick Park, who came in 2nd place. Congratulations to Maz’s team for winning this year’s NED Open Triples, Richard’s team for 2nd place and Yatish’s team for 3rd place.

Congratulations to the 2021 NED Open Pairs winners, Richard Sayer (Skip) and Veronica Sum (Lead) of Essex County LBC. This was held on Aug 9 (Mon) and Aug 10 (Tues). They defended their title from last year with a repeat performance and a 5-0 record.
Playoffs were held for 2nd and 3rd as there were 3 teams with a 4-1 record. Jerry Demello (Skip) and Maurice Lafond (Lead) of Essex County LBC got 2nd place after playing their first game and defeating Maz Zankowski (Skip) and Ted Tragard (Lead) of Frick Park. Then they went on to defeat Nick Meddis (Skip) and Bob Heilbronner (Lead) of Frick Park, in their 2nd game, who eventually got 3rd place.

skip arculli pairs - september 11 & 12, 2021 - essex county lawn bowling club
The last of our NED tournaments, the Arculli Pairs was held at Skytop instead of Essex County Lawn Bowling Club due to the devastation of Hurricane Ida that ruined the green in Bloomfield, NJ. We were very fortunate to have Skytop host this event on such short notice and appreciate their hospitality. 11 teams turned out for the Arculli Pairs at Skytop this last weekend. 3 teams finished at 4-1 with 2 having failed to win their fifth game.
Ryan Hastu and Joe Kelly of New York LBC defeated Maurice Lafond and Michele Arculli of Essex County LBC (3rd) and then Steve Monfre and Veronica Sum (2nd) of Essex County LBC to win the event. Also playing was Yatish Uchil and Cory Stawartz (2-3), Scott Snyder and Will Acheson (2-3), Ed Malstrom and Laura Wilhelms/Barry Brown (3-2), Alan Winson and Colin Smith (2-3), Ted Tregard and Steve Shaw (3-2), Richard Marcus and Alex Last (1-4), Larry Stawartz and Marion Stawartz (2-3), Patrick Duffy and Brianna Duffy (3-2).
Congratulations to Ryan and Joe and all the other winners. It was a beautiful weekend of weather and we all enjoyed a great weekend of bowling.
